[-Chapter 6-]

Whoo, Heather! You broke my writers block.. :-) lol Your comment gave me an idea, idk if it's brilliant or not, you all can be the judge of that in your comments below. :)

Now, time for a little celebration. :-)

Love the safety precautions guys! Strap that baby in! haha.

And, well.. just because it's sexy, what more reason do I need..? :-)

Okay, Story time now.

Kris's POV

She looks at me, her eyes inquisitive and her lips pouty, the adorable expression that she gets when she is thinking about something. By this point, her hair is sticking to her neck in wet strands, her t-shirt clinging to the skin of her stomach, the skin I want to explore when my fingertips.. She catches me looking at her, and tilts her head to the side, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips.

"Did you plan this?" she says while waving her hands in the hair before placing them on her hips, that attitude of hers that I love so much coming out in full force.

"No," I say while shaking my head defiantly. "If I could have thought of this, would I have done it? Most definitely," I say while smiling, only to find her smile just as big. "But no, I did not come up with this," I finish while pointing to the water spraying down on us.

"Okay," she answers while rolling her eyes, a smile still on her face before grabbing my hand and tugging me out of the room. We go down to the front desk, and they claim they don't know the reason for it either, so they arrange to have all of her clothing washed and dried before we are scheduled to leave in the morning.

I head back up to my room, and she follows timidly behind me. She walks in behind me, looking as if she's expecting something scary to jump out at her.

"Who are you rooming with?" she asks while looking around the room, her hands in her jean pockets, slightly rocking back and forth on her feet. I hold my laughter in check, thinking the last thing I need for her to do right now is to sprint out of the room.

"Philippe, he actually should be here pretty soon. He normally doesn't stay out too late."

"Oh. And it's okay that I'm here, right?" she questions while biting on her bottom lip, another nervous habit I've noticed she has.

"Yes," I chuckle while sitting down on the bed and flipping on the TV. "It's fine."

"Okay, I'm just gonna go shower real quick then," she calls over her shoulder before I hear the door to the bathroom click shut, sounds of the shower running emerging seconds later. I sigh, knowing that tonight could definitely be difficult for me, especially with her in my bed next to me.

True to her word, I hear the shower shut off in what only seems like a matter of minutes later, her coming out of the bathroom with her hair completely wet, a towel the only thing covering her body from my greedy eyes.

"Yeah, I don't have any clothes," she says while shrugging. "I didn't even think about that until I got out."

"Yeah, I didn't think about it either," I laugh while getting up and heading over to my suitcase, grabbing it and throwing it up on the bed. "Whatever is in here you are welcome to." She makes her way over to me, and grabs what's on top.

"This should do," she says while making her way back to the bathroom to change, and I automatically regret offering her anything in my bag, but then again I didn't think she would grab for my practice jersey either. She comes back out of the bathroom seconds later, and lucky for her she's rather on the short side, so it does cover most of her legs, but I can't help but let my eye roam over what skin is exposed. She climbs under the covers and pulls them up to her chin, snuggling in for the night I suppose.
Kailyn's POV
I thought he might have had something to do with my room, but either he is a damn good liar or I'm losing my touch, either way I find myself following him back up to his room. After getting in and out of the shower in lightning speed, it dawns on me that I don't have any clothes to wear. I wrap myself in a towel before opening the door, his eyes automatically drawn to my lurking figure. Normally, a guy looking at me like that would repulse me, but the only thing that seems to happen is my heart beat picks up and it feels like my stomach is doing somersaults. I try to shake it off before walking over to him and explaining the situation, grabbing the first thing in his bag in an attempt to not be picky. After I feel it in my hands, I automatically regret not being just a little pickier, but head to the bathroom and quickly change anyways before getting under the covers as quick as possible. The last thing I need is Philippe coming back and finding me half dressed.
We sit in silence, watching TV until finally Phlippe comes back. He glances over at me, but nothing more which makes we wonder just how many times he has walked in on this before. I look over at Kris, but he just looks down at me and gives me a slight smile before adverting his attention back to the TV. It's then that I realize exactly how cold in the room it is.
"Do you guys always keep your room this cold?" I ask while trying to keep my teeth from chattering, looking at him sitting on top of the covers in shorts and a t-shirt and thinking he is absolutely crazy.
"Yeah," he says nonchalantly while still starring at the TV. I pull at the covers, bringing them closer to me, if that was at all possible, and it finally gets his attention. He looks down at me before an amused smile crosses his face before I decide to just put my whole body under the covers, head and everything. "I thought you were from Canada," he jokes while shaking my hidden body.
"I am," I whine. "But it's only cold outside in Canada, which we clearly are not," I continue while popping my head out for emphasis before tucking it securely back under the covers where it had been previously before giving in to the pull of sleep.

[-Chapter 5-]

Sorry for the long wait, but I had an extreme case of writers block, and well I got caught up in my Max story a little, accidentally neglecting this one. :-S And whoo, going back to the Stanley Cup Finals. Bring it, Detroit. :-)

Kailyn's POV

I wake up the next morning and hurry to school to take my test, which I probably finished faster than I should have, but I can't help but be excited. I rush back to my dorm room and I know that I have time to waste so I jump in the shower before having to go to the airport.

As I'm rinsing the conditioner out of my hair, it dawns on me that I'm already falling for him, and he hasn't even laid a finger on me except for possibly on one occasion, which was probably an accident. Of this I can only be thankful, because even though I've always felt at ease around him, I am definitely not skilled in the guy department. Going through high school, I was far to concerned with my grades to even worry or think about guys. As other girls were learning the temptress role and learning to manipulate guys into doing whatever they wanted them to, I was the nerdy girl locked in my room, or library which seems more fit, studying away. In fact, the only guy I've probably ever came into contact with and actually have a relationship with would be my brother, and well even though my brother and I are extremely close, I don't really think that counts for anything in this situation. I let all the doubts I have disappear from my mind, allowing a smile to cross my face as I get out of the shower and quickly get dressed, grabbing my bags and heading outside to grab a cab, eagerness probably showing in all of my emotions.

I arrive at the airport and board my plane, plugging my iPod in and almost instantly falling asleep, making up for my sleepless previous night. After the plane lands, I head to my hotel and check in, finding that I have my own room, which I can only be thankful for. My sleeping arrangement was one of the only concerns I had when I agreed to come, but I should have known that I had nothing to worry about. I should have figured that Kris would have thought everything through..

After getting settled, I see that its a little after 5 so I head to the arena and follow the directions he gave me that lead me down toward the locker rooms. I walk around a corner, skeptical of where to go from now until I see a familiar face.

"Hey Kailyn," Ty greets as a smile crosses her face, the same look I've been getting from a lot of people here recently.

Kris's POV

I sit, lacing up my skates before the game, fidgeting more than normal. My nerves probably have to do with the fact that Kailyn is coming to a game for the first time. I make my way out onto the ice almost in a complete daze, which is probably why Max catches me off guard when he comes up behind me as we step out onto the ice for pre-game.

"Hey man, you alright?" he asks while hitting my arm to get my attention. "You look like you're in deep thought about something." It's then that I spot her, making her way down the isle with Jodi behind her toward their seats right behind our bench, and I know I have a ridiculously big smile on my face. "Oh," Max continues while shaking his head after catching onto what I was starring at before skating away with a laugh.

After they get seated, she finally looks down at me, and I can't decide if she's happy to see me or just happy to be here, but nevertheless she has a huge smile on her face as she waves down at me, catching the attention of the guy next to her. I see the way his eyes roam over her, even though she is oblivious to it all, and it makes my blood broil. She pays him no attention though and continues to smile down at me, so I nod my head slightly before skating around, trying to concentrate on the game.

The whole game, things were close and intense. As the buzzer went off, signaling there was going to be a shoot out, I went into a daze like I normally do, waiting for coach to say who would be shooting. After finding out I would be third, I automatically start thinking through what move I was going to do, not really paying attention to anybody else as they take their turn at the opposing goalie.

Soon enough it was my turn. I push the puck forward with the blade of my skate before starting the game of cat and mouse between the goalie and the shooter that always takes place during shoot outs. I change my direction, waiting for him to react, and as soon as I have him leaning one way, I switch over to my backhand, the puck finding the back of the net.

Kailyn's POV

I wait anxiously, not being able to sit still during the shoot out when I see him step out on the ice as the last shooter. As he makes his way toward the goal, flipping the puck into the back of the net with ease, I let out a breath I hadn't even known I was holding, turning to Jodi and jumping in excitement. Jodi leads me through all the equally excited fans and down toward the locker room, which seemed like it took forever to reach.

As I follow her into the room, I can't help but smile as he looks over at me.

"Nice goal," I say while jumping into his arms, giving him the tightest of bear hugs which causes him to laugh.

"Thanks," he chuckles while sitting me back down on my feet, tucking my hair back out of my face. "I have to do interviews real quick and then shower, then we can get out of here and go eat or something."

"Okay," I answer quietly before making my way back over to where Ty has joined Jodi, both of them having an amused smile on their faces.

"What?" I ask defensively, but not being able to keep a straight face.

"Nothing," they both chime at the same time before shaking their heads. We wait patiently for the guys to get finished up before heading out to eat and then heading back to the hotel.

"I had a nice time," I say while turning to Kris before grabbing for the key to my room.

"I can tell," he said while laughing. "You haven't stopped smiling all night," he continues while I open the room to my door, only to see that the water system has been turned on, which I have no idea why, because there is no fire of any kind. I look at all my clothing that is now drenched before looking back at him, but he just has this huge smile on his face.

"This," I start while hitting him playfully, "is not funny." He only continues to laugh while we both stand in my room and continue to get wet. "What the hell is it with us and water!" I yell before shrugging my shoulders and shaking my head.

"Well, looks like you'll have to stay with me now anyways." I turn around to see that he now has a mischievous smile on his face, and I can't decide if that's a good thing or not as I nod my head in agreement.

[-Chapter 4-]

Kailyn's POV

I sit at my normal table, studying away even though it's New Years Eve. Some professors have no mercy.. I glance up from my computer screen for the first time in what seems like hours, and am not at all surprised when I see a figure slinking into the coffee shop, "our" coffee shop I suppose, with a hat pulled down low, going for inconspicuous I guess. I can't stop the smile from crossing my face as he makes his way over to me. In fact, I haven't been able to the last few times he's stopped by over the past couple of weeks, at least when he's home that is. Even when he's away, we share frequent conversations through texting, and even though I normally get annoyed with people who bother me when I'm busy, that thought has never once applied to him.

"No New Years plans?" he asks while sliding into the booth across from me.

"Test.." I answer while pointing to the books stacked around me.

"You always have some test," he says while laughing and shaking his head. "You couldn't take one night off to celebrate the new year?"

"Some celebrations are foolish," I say while shrugging my shoulders, but he just continues to stare at me as if he thinks I'm completely foolish. "Why?"

"New Years is a big deal.."

"Mhmm.." I reply sarcastically while shaking my head, prompting him to continue.

"People have this idea that when the clock strikes twelve, something monumental is going to happen, so you put on the goofy little hat and you sing a song that nobody really understands the lyrics to and wait for lightning to strike."

Kris's POV

I know that tonight I could have went out with the guys, but I knew exactly where I wanted to be, and that would be in this sub-par coffee shop, with her.

"Yeah, and if you don't have a date or a party to go to you must be some loser. People spend weeks planning for this, right? And then 9 times out of 10, you just end up kissing some drunk stranger and looking around the room wondering 'why is everyone having so much fun?'" she continues, following my lead. This is what I love about her.. she doesn't think like a million of other girls out there. She is unique..

"The new years comes and goes and you look at yourself in the mirror, and you look exactly like you did the night before, except you have a massive hangover the next day.." I laugh.

"Exactly," she says while raising her arms for emphasis. She looks so cute when she's proven the point she was making.. "What about you, what's your story? No plans?"

"Mid-season.. and I'm not much of a drinker anyways. And plus, there is this girl at this coffee-shop I kind of like to be around."

Kailyn's POV

I love how to a person on the outside of our little games would think we are being completely vague, when in reality we are really having an in-depth conversation.

"Really now..?" I ask, that same smile creeping into my expression as I reach for my drink, more to keep my hands busy than quench my thirst.

"Mhmm, something like that," he returns with a small chuckle. "There actually is a reason I stopped in tonight though."

"And?" I prompt, trying not to let my excitement show or get the better of me.

"And, we play in Vancouver tomorrow. You should come." I nearly choke on my latte as the words roll out of his mouth. "If you want to that is," he adds, probably not wanting to pressure me into anything.

I sit and run the offer through my mind. I know that things are pretty busy for me right now, but yet I can't help myself... he looks so adorable sitting there trying to look patient.. "I'm Canadian, do you honestly think I'm going to turn down an offer to a hockey game?"

"I was hoping that leverage would help me, yes.." he laughs. "Come on, it's getting late. I'll take you home," he continues before grabbing my books, and I actually let him before following him out to his car.

[-Chapter 3-]

Kris's POV

I sigh in frustration before wiping the water that luckily just got on my face away. What possessed them to jump into freezing cold pool water in December I doubt I will ever understand. I can see it now, one of them will come down with a case of pneumonia and coach will be irate. The frustrations in my thoughts quickly evaporate into nothing when I catch a glimpse of Kailyn. She had been wearing a tight white t-shirt under an unzipped jacket, which is now completely soaked. I can now clearly see the lace imprint on her bra, and what appears to be a tattoo on her lower right hip, right above where her jeans sit, which now that I'm looking there instead of at her ample cleavage I notice that they are pretty much drenched too. Finally looking up at her face, I see her hair sticking in wet strands to her forehead and neck, and I can only laugh at the fact that she definitely got the worse end of the tidal wave that just hit. My laughter makes her direct her attention toward me, and even though I can see a hint of attitude in her movements, I can't wipe the smile off my face.

"This," she says while waving her hand in front of her indicating her soaked clothing, "isn't funny," she finishes before playfully hitting me in the stomach, with some force I might add.

"Come on, I'm sure I have something you can wear," I offer while opening the door for her to walk through. She steps through and then waits for me on the other side to show her where to go. I lead her up the stairs to my bedroom and flick on the lights only to watch her eyes go straight to the cage in the corner of the room.

"Aww, who is this little guy," she says while taking her jacket off and sitting it on my bed before making her way over to the cage and bending down, her shirt raising enough until I can see another tattoo on her lower back.

"That is Archie," I answer before pulling my shirt over my head and reaching for a dry one.

Kailyn's POV

"He's cute," I conclude before turning around and seeing him shirtless. A slight blush crosses my face before I turn my attention back to the puppy. "What is he, an Alaskan Husky?" I ask before turning around once again in time to see him open a door which I assume is his closet. I hear him rummaging through stuff, probably trying to find something for me to wear. A couple seconds later he returns with a pair of sweats and a t-shirt.

"Yeah. I got him about 3 weeks ago," he says while walking over to where I'm crouching in front of the cage. "Here.." he says while offering me the clothes before bending over to let the energetic puppy out of the cage. He picks up Archie and playfully tosses him on the bed before laying down on it himself to play with him. I know I could go to a different room to change, but I am beyond freezing at this point so I just turn around so I'm not facing him and pull my shirt over my head and shimmy out of my jeans and reach for the clothes he gave me.

Kris's POV

I am more than speechless as I watch her shed her clothing, finally able to get a better look at the tattoo on her back, which I can now clearly make out to see that it makes an arrangement of stars that are variously colored. She slides on my sweats and I can only smile at the fact that they barely rest at the lowest part of her hips, her small frame barely being wide enough to hold them up. She throws the t-shirt I gave her on and pulls her long, wet hair out of the back of it before turning around and making her way over to where Archie is sitting on the corner of the bed, wondering if he should tempt the long jump to the ground. He decides against it, sitting back down which makes her laugh before she starts to pet him.

"I love dogs," she says while smiling down at him. "We can't have them at the dorms, but when I finally get out of there I'm definitely getting one," she finishes before turning and heading out of the room back downstairs. I grab Archie off the bed and put him on the ground before we both follow.

When we finally get downstairs, not a soul is around, everybody having already headed home. She walks over to where her book bag is and picks it up before turning back around toward me.

"Everybody else is already gone, so I guess this is my cue," she says with that smile of hers that has my heart beating double-time.

"You want a ride?" I ask while grabbing my coat off the back of the couch and reaching for my keys that are in my jean pockets.

"No, really it's okay. I love walking anyways, and my dorm is only about 3 blocks down."

"I'm not gonna let you leave by yourself, so either you let me drive you or you let me walk you," I say defiantly, not really wanting this night to end until I know more about her.

"Looks like we're walking then," she says with a shrug and a small smirk before slipping into her jacket and heading for the door.

Kailyn's POV

I pick up Archie on my way to the door, deciding he might as well come along. As Kris and I head down the sidewalk, our footsteps falling into sync I know that I've made walks further than this at later hours of the night, but I look over at him and he smirks a little, and I can't help but relish in having some company tonight. After we have walked about half a block in silence, he speaks up.

"So earlier you used the term 'when I get out of there'," he says while using quotation marks. "What's that mean?"

"Did you just use quotation marks?" I laugh while turning my gaze in his direction.

"Yes, I did," he chuckles. "Stop avoiding the question."

"I'm on scholarship," I say with a shrug. He looks over at me, wanting more of an answer so I continue. "Pitt has the best law school in the entertainment department, and I got a free ride, it was hard to pass us. Some of us don't have the luxury of playing a game we love for a crapload of money," I finish while jabbing my elbow lightly into his side.

"Touche," he adds with that crooked grin of his.

"Well, this is me," I say while stopping in front of my building. I push Archie away from my chest where he was resting before and extend my arms to get a good look at him before giving him a kiss on the head which makes Kris laugh. "Here," I offer while handing the adorable puppy back over to him. "I had a nice time tonight," I conclude while turning around and looking back at him while making my way up the front steps.

"Yeah me too. See you around Kailyn," he says before turning around and making his way back down the street, leaving me wondering about a load of different things.
